I booked a spur of the moment trip to New Orleans- this city feels so ALIVE. From the live jazz music playing everywhere to the vibrant food scene, here are a few of my favorite things to do while in the Big Easy!
Walk around cemeteries! I know it sounds morbid, but these crumbling above ground graves are a must-see. I loved Lafayette Cemetery, and bonus- Beyonce’s house is nearby! You can find the address with some googling.
Walk around Magazine Street! This chill neighborhood had lots of charming shops. Walking around in general was probably my favorite part of New orleans— there’s so much to look at with the Southern architecture and style.
Spoken Word events! My friend that I traveled with perused Facebook and found this really cool event at Backatown Coffee Parlor.
Eat the best Vietnamese food! Mint Modern was my pick for Vietnamese, and it’s off the beaten path. I loved getting to see a new neighborhood and feast on something other than the traditional Southern cooking.
